With the help of friends Tom (nextdoor neighbor) and Ron (a pilot who flies his Cessna 182 out of SNA), I built this workbench. It's 40" off the floor, so it won't break my back bending over it. It's 3' x 6' in terms of top area. Given how much crap I've already piled all over it (granted, I haven't bought a nice rolling tool chest yet...), I might need to build another one!

This sucker is pretty much hacked together, but it's square, level, and pretty rigid. That's all I care about. Plus, the cool part is that it's wired with two electrical outlets, one just inside each front leg.

Here's a closer shot of one of the electrical outlets.

I cleaned all the rest of the crap out of the garage, and thoroughly swept the floor. I'm ready to start building the jig! As soon as the plans arrive, I'll get started on that. And once the tools get here, I'll invest in a nice rolling tool chest, and this workspace will really start coming together.
