One big issue was getting the completed empennage components out of the way. As much as I like looking at them for motivation and all that crap, I'm gonna need all the space I can get. So I hung the HS up along the ceiling with tie-down straps, and I stuffed the VS and rudder up on a shelf above the garage door. The elevators are still on a table in the corner, but that'll work for now.

Here are a couple of crappy shots of the garage taken at night. This vertical jig post is just resting against a joist, it's not permanent. I've been scoping out how I'm going to mount the wing jig, and I'm thinking it'll go diagonally across the garage to "maximize" walk-around space. Still debating about whether to jig both wings at once or just do one at a time. We'll see.

Here's the other side of the garage. This bench ain't gonna cut it length-wise. Tomorrow I'll probably build a "bench extension" to bring it to 10' in length so that I can lay the spars flat without ends hanging off. Apparently, most of the wing prep work, including all the countersinking and stuff all the way up to clecoing main ribs to the spar, occurs on the bench.

I bought some 2x4s for the bench extension (and I may make another small "portable" bench for the grinder and drill press), and some angle stock for the spar support cross-brackets. I'm still debating about how I want to do this...single- or double-wing...hm...
