Would you believe I went into the office TWICE this week?! Well, fortunately I flew both times. Both times I flew IFR in the morning (shot the VOR approach into SMO), and both times I actually took the bus from the airport to the office. It's already getting old. The bus is great since it's cheap and I don't need to distract my coworkers by asking for rides...but since I have to get a transfer in the middle of the route it can really kill the schedule. Santa Monica's "Big Blue Bus" system is kinda cool, but they only run like 2 1/2 buses on the whole system. So you end up waiting forever for your transfer bus to show up. At least that's the luck I've had so far. But I guess you get what you pay for...75 cents each way including the transfer.

Anyway, on the way home today I was flying toward downtown LA when I spotted the Saturn blimp up there, probably up in the LA class bravo.

Lovely, smoggy downtown LA.

Yuck. Get me back to the Inland Empire where I can smell some dairy.

How bad could your job possibly be when you get to fly in? I guess it would be cooler if I had a Rotorway Exec or something and could just drop right into 10940 Wilshire instead of having to slum it on public transportation. Hey, it still beats braving the traffic on LA freeways any day of the week.
